Where next?

It is said- “It is not titles that honour men (persons),
but men (persons) that honour titles.”

So I wondered “what is my title” !
Am I literature graduate?
A law graduate?
A upsc cse candidate who’s stopped this journey!
A failure! Or an average person!
Or now an advocate?

Right now, it’s none.

No title belongs to me right now. Right now I’m just a person transitioning from competitive studies to a work life. In the process, of these past few months (3 months), I stopped studying academics for a good personal reason that my brain should stop for awhile and take a good vacation from this clock time studies that I am used to doing (sometimes successfully, other times not). Instead I spent time with the things I liked doing, mostly writing, reading tiny few things here there, trying to calm down my mind, doing exercise a little better, began sketching a little, and also trying to look forward for the right career choices and interests.

A lot less time was utilised in all these tasks, but that was the goal too, indeed. That is to not make everything about finishing or achieving in a set time. So mostly I tried to slow down the rhythm of my mind. (If I were to suggest, sure it’s good to do it for a month or little bit more, after that you’re on your own, choose your right direction.)

Well what began as a good thought had now taken an extension mostly in affect of August festivities, family engagements and sure a little personal dreadfulness too. There was a flow of little slackness in the air that initially I did try to beat excessively. Ultimately, couldn’t.

Truth be told, I was okay with the extension of time, I just needed to stay put and practice patience for a little while longer. And that’s what I did. Nonetheless, the time is here now, after a 10 days long wait.

That’s when I read this quote, “it is not titles that honour men (persons), but men (persons) that honour titles.” The quote immediately inspired me from all my doubts and apprehensions. The hazy feeling of losing identity is something I have watched throughout these past 3 months and this quote put a clear structure to it.

I had already been accepting this wave of change and honing my inner grounds, character, and some form of working ethic (or functioning ethic). This quote simply gave a right and required coating to it.

With that I’m all set to begin this new chapter of life! 🙂

P.S- It’s been 2 weeks into this profession and so far so good. It’s still in process, still getting the hang of it and well the uniform. 😂🤓😊
